   This download contains a collection of motor compensation waveforms for various motors we have tested.  These waveforms are used in conjunction with the ssDEMO program in the Axis Tuning Section. This installation will create a directory \ss\motors\ and within this directory there will be sub-directories for different motor manufactures. For more information see the application note AN-108 Motor Waveform Compensation.

    If you have a motor you want analyzed for motor tuning, contact us directly for more information.

SyncroStep DLL for do it yourself Software Gurus gmcapi.zip

    This download contains both the C source as well as the DLL itself.  This DLL gives you higher level commands to talk to the ss4544 system to allow you to quickly write motion control programs using the capabilities of the ss4544 system.  You will still need to use the ssDEMO program to first setup and test and tune your motion system.  Once that is accomplished, all setup parameters for your machine are stored in Flash memory in the ss4544.  You can then issue motion commands through the DLL.  You will find additional information within the Directory c:\ss\motion which is created when you install the ssDEMO on your system.

    This download is NOT a demo program.  It is only useful for those of you who have appropriate ss4544 systems with control panel, and TestraMW CAD/CAM Software package.  This needs to be unzipped into your c:\ss\download directory then uploaded to your ss4544.  If you download the latest ssDEMO and do a INSTALL or REINSTALL this file will already be located in the proper directory.

SyncroStep DEMO SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

    If you are running a DOS system, before starting make sure that your config.sys file declares at least 20 Buffers and 20 Files.  This can be done by adding the following two lines to your DOS config.sys if they are not already there or larger.  In Windows you don't have to worry about this!

    files=20
    buffers=20

     You will have to reboot your system if you  make these changes.  Use the Control-Alt-Delete keys simultaneously.

    Save the download file (a .EXE file) in a temporary directory.  Log into that directory and either type the name of the download file or double-click on it in Windows.  This will auto extract all the files for installation, running, and removal, and another self extracting file containing the system (another .EXE file).  If you want to install the demo on another system, you can copy all of the files except the original download file ( first .EXE file) to a floppy disk.

FROM DOS OR A DOS WINDOW

     To install the SyncroStep DEMO from a floppy, first log onto the floppy drive you are using then type INSTALL.  For example:

    C:\>A:
    A:\>INSTALL

     Alternatively, if you are updating a system and wish to maintain your  menu configuration files, type REINSTAL.  For example:

     A:>REINSTAL

     After you leave the SyncroStep demo system and are back in DOS, you can restart the demo by typing at the prompt:

    C:\>SS

     If you are installing from the temporary directory, simply type INSTALL

     The READ.ME file has more information.   The installation will automatically start the program.  It will also place a bat file in your root directory c:\, and in your bat directory c:\bat\ if there is one. It will also place an icon on your windows desktop, if Windows is running.

FROM ANY WINDOWS

     To install on the same system you downloaded to you can simply double click on install.bat or reinstal.bat in the folder that you just expanded the download file in.  If you have copied all of the files to a floppy disk or USB flash drive to install on a different system, it may be installed by using the windows RUN feature.  Enter a:install  or a:reinstal after putting the floppy in the a: drive or inserting the USB flash drive.  Alternatively using windows explorer, select the appropriate drive, then double click on install.bat or reinstal.bat.   The installation will automatically start up the program.  After quitting the program you will find a new icon on your desktop that may be used to restart the program when desired.

    Note: ssDEMO may not run properly on some Windows XP/2000 or NT operating systems.  The Microsoft Emulator handling I/O is very slow.  For Windows XP/2000 or NT use ssXP.
